The contrast on this specimen is striking: bright, translucent edges on one side shift to darker, denser tones on the opposite face — a direct result of varying material thickness across the moldavite. The effect creates a natural gradient that makes this piece look different depending on how it’s held against the light.
The surface carries deep, sharply sculpted texture with pronounced grooves and complex relief. Olešnice is a well-documented Czech locality known for producing moldavites with strong sculptural character and interesting optical properties.
